
Larry Vickers is a decorated US Army Special Forces veteran and national pistol champion. Mr. Vickers has nearly two decades of special operations experience (1 SFOD-Delta), much of which was spent as his unit’s Primary Firearms Instructor. He was also an assaulter in Operation Acid Gambit during Operation Just Cause which was Delta Force’s first successful hostage rescue mission. In addition to his special operations accomplishments, his competitive shooting has yielded a 10th and 9th place finish in the 1993 and 1994 USPSA Limited Nationals as well as a 1st place finish in CDP class at the 2001 IDPA Mid-Winter Nationals. Mr. Vickers is a founding member of IDPA. In addition to being a highly experienced operator and national pistol champion, Mr. Vickers is also one of the premier 1911 pistolsmiths in the country and his work has been featured in several firearms publications and on the cover of American Handgunner. In addition to all this, Mr. Vickers has served as a consultant and technical expert to the firearms industry. 1 Day Basic Handgun Course
This class is an entry level course for handgun shooters and is designed specifically for those who have not had any formal instruction or those wanting a refresher class for skill maintenance and refinement. Topics covered include the following: safety, stance, grip, sight alignment and trigger control fundamentals. In addition to this, other topics that are covered include reloads, draw. Different skill drills including dry fire and bullseye shooting will be introduced and practiced. Additionally, Larry will make himself available to any student during class breaks and after class to answer individual questions on his/her weapons, equipment, gear set up, etc.
2 Day Handgun Operator Course
This class is friendly to entry level handgun shooters and for those who have not had any formal firearms instruction and also for shooters seeking a shooting fundamentals refresher for skill maintenance and refinement. Topics covered include the following: safety, stance, grip, sight alignment trigger control, reloading, drawing from the holster, and malfunction drills. There will also be dry fire practice and bullseye accuracy shooting. Enhanced skill drills that will challenge shooters of all levels will be demonstrated and practiced. Day Two will include a review and drill applications of all the topics that were covered. Additionally, Larry will make himself available to any student during class breaks and after class to answer individual questions on his/her weapons, equipment, gear set up, etc.
2 Day Advanced Handgun Course
This class focuses on all aspects of advanced level handgun shooting skills relevant to a wide variety of applications including whether you are a deploying serviceman, an on duty law enforcement officer, a conceal carry civilian, or for home defense. Topics covered will be a review of safety, stance, sight alignment, reloads, presentation, shooting positions, and trigger control. More advanced topics will include shooting on the move, barricade, cover and concealment, and support side shooting, etc. Day Two will include a review and drill applications of all the topics that were covered. Any shooter will leave the course with a firmer grasp of advanced level handgun shooting whether it is your primary or secondary weapon during any situation. Additionally, Larry will make himself available to any student during class breaks and after class to answer individual questions on his/her weapons, equipment, gear set up, etc.

This course consists of eight mentally fatiguing hours on the range of making each and every shot count. This course defines the technical aspects of handgun marksmanship, specifically relating to the service handgun. Larry Vickers gives students his take on the mechanical accuracy of the service handgun and what we can realistically expect to see in real world conditions. Students can expect extensive trigger control diagnostics, dissection of the principles of marksmanship, and challenging courses of fire that are anything but basic. This course is a unique opportunity to focus on the fundamentals of marksmanship, and further develop these skills in order to break through to the next plateau. Additionally, Larry will make himself available to any student during class breaks and after class to answer individual questions on his/her weapons, equipment, gear set up, etc.

2 Day 1911 Operator Course
This class features 1911 specific range drills that highlight the differences of shooting a 1911 versus other handguns. Specific drills and courses of fire are demonstrated and practiced to allow the shooter to understand what shooting a 1911 is all about. A unique part of this course involves a classroom portion on the second day. In this course portion, the students will learn about detailed disassembly, troubleshooting, recommended and not recommended modifications, and a detailed inspection of each students 1911. This will give students the knowledge and skills needed to identify and diagnose problems with their 1911. Time permitting, a return to the range to reinforce what was taught wraps up this intensive 1911 learning experience. This class is a must for anyone who wants to run a 1911 properly. This class is for students with carbine experience who wish to refresh or refine their carbine skills. Topics covered include safety, stance, zeroing for iron sights and optics, sight alignment and trigger control. Other subjects covered include reloading, weapon presentation, various shooting positions, malfunction drills, and shooting on the move. Timed fire drills and enhanced skill drill evaluations will be performed. Additionally, Larry will make himself available to any student during class breaks and after class to answer individual questions on his/her weapons, equipment, gear set up, etc.
2 Day Carbine Operator Course
This class covers all the basic and intermediate skills required to competently operate a carbine. This class is suitable for a wide range of students from those with rudimentary experience to those seeking to improve and refine their existing carbine skills. Topics covered include carbine safety, stance, zeroing sights, sight alignment and trigger control. Other subject matters that are covered include reloading, weapon presentation, strong side & weak side shooting, various shooting positions, use of cover, and shooting on the move. Different skill drills including dry fire and bullseye shooting are introduced as well as malfunction drills and weapon transition from rifle to pistol. Day Two will include a review and drill applications of all the topics that were covered. Timed fire drills and evaluations are based on class skill level. Additionally, Larry will make himself available to any student during class breaks and after class to answer individual questions.
1 Day AK Operator Course
This class covers all the skills required to competently operate an AK style weapon. Topics covered include safety, stance, zeroing for iron sights and optics, sight alignment and trigger control. Other subject matters that are covered include reloads, weapon presentation, various shooting positions, malfunction drills, and shooting on the move. Timed fire drills and evaluations are performed based on class skill level. A brief overview of the development of the AK and variations will be covered as well as suggested modifications.
